She Said What She Said: Angel Reese’s Manifestation Era Just Reached the WNBA Finals

Angel Reese Spoke the Finals Into Existence, Then Went and Got It

Some people post their goals and pray nobody screenshots them. Angel Reese posted hers and let the timeline keep the receipt.

On October 10, 2025, Reese was at home watching the Las Vegas Aces sweep the Phoenix Mercury in Game 4 of the WNBA Finals. She hopped on X and typed: “manifesting the finals>>>.” Exactly 364 days later, she stood on the Barclays Center court with a Finals berth in hand. Sis didn’t just speak it into existence. She sweated it into existence too.

The Couch Era Was Real

Context is everything here. That night, Reese was wrapping her second season with the Chicago Sky, a team that missed the playoffs in both 2024 and 2025. For someone who led LSU to the 2023 NCAA championship, watching other people play for rings had to sting.

She later described spending two years at home watching the Finals and saying over and over that she just wanted a shot at the playoffs. That same evening, she texted Kahleah Copper, then with the Mercury, something to the effect of “Give me one game in the playoffs.” She wasn’t asking for a title or a trophy, just one door cracked open.

That feeling is deeply relatable. So many of us know what it’s like to be talented and ready but stuck in a room that isn’t built for our growth.

Vision Boards Aren’t Corny When They Work

If you’ve been rolling your eyes at manifestation talk, Angel Reese would like a word. This isn’t a new bit for her. Reporting from her college years describes annual vision boards covered in printed quotes and images of her goals, plus notes on her mirrors reading “Positive attitude,” “Be confident,” and “Pray every day.”

She’s been open about writing down goals, speaking affirmations out loud, and refusing to entertain negative self-talk. In October 2025, she pointed to other things she’d manifested, like becoming a Victoria’s Secret model. Girl has a track record.

Black women are constantly told to shrink, stay humble, and wait our turn. Saying “I’m supposed to be here” out loud is its own radical act.

New City, New Chapter

Then came the plot twist. In the 2026 offseason, Reese was traded from Chicago to the Atlanta Dream. The Dream had finished as the third seed in 2025 before a first-round exit, so they had something to prove, and so did a player with a whole tweet to cash in.

What followed was a career season. Reese averaged roughly 16.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists, setting single-season marks with 521 rebounds and 32 double-doubles. She earned her third All-Star nod and was named WNBA Defensive Player of the Year. For good measure, she also won gold with Team USA at the FIBA World Cup.

That’s the part the “she just got lucky” crowd always skips. Manifestation gave her the target, and the work put the ball in the basket.

The Night It All Came Full Circle

Atlanta entered the playoffs and simply refused to lose. The Dream swept the Washington Mystics in the first round, then swept the New York Liberty in the semis, going a perfect 5-0. Reese averaged 20.7 points and 7.7 rebounds against New York.

In the clincher on October 9 at Barclays Center, the Dream edged the Liberty 85-83 on the road. Reese dropped 22 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal in 37 minutes and went 6-of-6 from the line. Eighteen of those points came before halftime. It’s the Dream’s first Finals trip since 2013 and the first of Reese’s career.

Afterward, she didn’t hold back: “I manifested this… I posted and tweeted, 10/10/25, that I was manifesting the Finals, and this is my moment. I’m supposed to be here. I thank God for this moment.” Then she quote-tweeted her old post with the perfect caption: “364 DAYS LATER….”

Faith, Teammates, and Telling the Truth

What makes this moment hit different is that Reese didn’t make it a solo story. She credited the Atlanta organization for pouring into her every day and said the players poured into one another. She also shouted out the team’s praying group, noting that eight of twelve players attend chapel. “This is all God,” she said.

She talked about speaking positivity into her team, not just into her own life. “When you speak positive things in your life, it happens. You manifest big things and big dreams.” That’s a leader talking.

For anyone keeping score, Reese was the seventh overall pick in 2024. None of the six players drafted ahead of her had won a playoff series as of this run. Just saying.

The Job Isn’t Done

Next up, the Dream face the Golden State Valkyries, who swept the defending champion Aces. The Finals are set to tip off around October 17, and Reese has made it clear she’s not satisfied: “the job is not done.”

Whatever happens next, this run is a reminder worth taping to your own mirror. Say the thing out loud and put in the work quietly. When it shows up, claim it without apologizing.
